Michael was born in Queens, New York and lived in Long Island for 36 years until moving to South Carolina with his wife in 2016. Michael was admitted to the New York Bar in 2006 and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 2007. Michael was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in September of 2017 and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina in 2018

Michael graduated from the University of Florida in 2002 with a B.S. degree in Economics. He then attended Hofstra University School of Law, where he earned his J.D. degree in 2005.

While he studied for the South Carolina Bar, Michael worked as an advisor for Morgan Stanley from 2016-2017. Before relocating to Greenville, South Carolina, Michael was an attorney at the prominent Long Island law firm, Lewis, Johs, Avallone & Aviles, LLP from 2013-2016.
